Electrochemical Characterization of the Repurposed Antimicrobial Compound Auranofin in Aqueous Solutions

Pharmaceutical detection and quantification of pharmaceuticals in the environment are gaining attention. Electrochemical sensors are getting more popular. For the first time in aqueous media, the multi-purpose drug auranofin is tested herein. Auranofin detection was improved at carbon black-modified electrodes, which was optimized for Auranofin. Parameters identified in this research may be useful for auranofin testing in environmental samples and drug tolerance research.
