Emergent geographies of chronic air pollution governance in Southeast Asia: Transboundary publics in Singapore

Role of sleep quality in the acceleration of biological aging and its potential for preventive interaction on air pollution insults: Findings from the UK Biobank cohort

Abstract Sleep has been attributed to aging and health effects, but the causal connection remains inconclusive. In this research, we investigated the correlations of sleep habits with biological age among 363,886 middle and elderly adults from UK Biobank. Participants' sleep habits included snoring, chronotype, nighttime sleepiness, sleep duration, insomnia, and difficulties in getting up. We first noticed negative correlations between the sleep index and the two AAs, and we found that the change in AAs could be due to sleep quality and genetic risk scores of sleep index and BAs. Sleep quality was also shown to have a modifying effect on the relationships of elevated PM2. 5 and NO2 levels with accelerated AAs. Our findings support that improved sleep quality could reduce the risk of biological aging owing to air pollution.

From fabrication to consolidation of China's political blue‐sky: How can environmental regulations shape sustainable air pollution governance?

To model the dynamic cost-benefit coordination among the central government, local government, and polluting firms for sustainable air pollution reduction, a two-pronged mechanism model in the non-cooperative tripartite evolutionary game is used. In extended scenarios, three long-term oriented inspirations—double-dividend effect of environmental control, public health monitoring, and the Porter hypothesis regarding environmental laws—can all improve the effectiveness of environmental controls compared to baseline scenarios. Policy simulation in an evolutionary game framework adds a new twist to the research toolkit for dealing FA from a methodological standpoint.

Resolving and Predicting Neighborhood Vulnerability to Urban Heat and Air Pollution: Insights From a Pilot Project of Community Science

The results, which have been collected for the first time by community members, reveal the sensitivity of both the large spatiotemporal shifts and covariations between 2 m air temperature and ozone concentration within the neighborhood scale. This neighborhood variation was not present in either daily satellite observations or operational model forecasts, making the assessment of community health risks a challenge. In comparison, a satellite-based land surface temperature at 1 km resolution is insufficient to capture air temperature variations at the neighborhood scale. Green canopy's ability to reduce air temperature and ozone can be enhanced by interactive maps and applications that display the results in near real time; however, different tree species and sizes may have different effects on air temperature, which is not addressed by the WRF.
