The silk fabric's dye uptake patterns were significantly different when the coloration flow status was in laminar, transitional, and turbulent flow, respectively. In addition, decreasing the bath pH value and raising the temperature of the dyeing bath had a significant positive effect on the dye uptake behavior in several flow statuses. The results also show that the developed method and self-built fluid dynamics coloration system are able to determine dye uptake activity in various flow statuses, and that they can be useful in the development of a more effective process and parameters for cleaner textile coloration.
