Purpose Of Objectives The goal is to compare 5-aminolevulinic acid-mediated photodynamic therapy with narrow-band imaging for cancer detection during transurethral resection of bladder tumors. PDD was significantly more sensitive than NBI for all lesions and carcinoma in situ lesions than in NBI. Conclusions PDD can increase the detection rate of bladder cancer detection by more than 10% compared to NBI. Therefore, 100% of CIS lesions can be identified by adding PDD to WL.
