Synthesis and Modification by Carbonization of Styrene–Ethylene Glycol Dimethacrylate–Lignin Sorbents and their Sorption of Acetylsalicylic Acid

This paper discusses the synthesis and testing of new polymer microspheres properties based on ethylene glycol dimethylacrylate, styrene, and various amounts of commercial kraft lignin. The conditions of the synthesis process were optimized in the first stage of the experiments by selecting a correct amount of poly, which was a suspension stabilizer. New polymers were synthesized by the suspension polymerization process, based on EGDMA + St + L. The microspheres porosity was characterized by low-temperature nitrogen adsorption. The microspheres were impregnated with the aqueous solution of the activating agent and then carbonized at 400 °u00b0C, in order to raise the porosity. In comparison to commonly used styrene-divinylbenzene copolymers, these materials are an appealing alternative.
