Academic integrity is a pledge to six fundamental principles: honesty, trust, fairness, reverence, accountability, and misconduct refers to conduct that violate these values and this commitment. Our focus is academic integrity in distance learning environments by investigating the key themes of student and staff perceptions, as well as related pedagogical topics. To reduce academic misconduct, we recommend a series of steps that can raise students' perception of academic legitimacy and institutional approaches in order to reduce academic misconduct.
