METHODS is a nonprofit organization that publishes research on neurosurgeons who had graduated from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (UA3) Accredited residency programs in the period from 1949 to 2019 were obtained from residency and academic websites. Graduates with a PhD were refused to examine the effect of only having a master's degree. RESULTS Within our database of neurosurgery residency alumni, there were 47 who obtained an MS degree, 31 who obtained an MPH, and ten who held an MBA. Neurosurgeons with MS degrees were significantly more likely to pursue academic careers, according to bivariate studies, whereas neurosurgeons with an MPH or MBA were not. An MS degree was not independently connected to an academic career in the multivariate research. CONCLUSIONS BIOLOGIC BIOLOGRA graduates with MS degrees are more likely to pursue academic neurosurgical careers than non-MS graduates.
