Performance of Deep Learning-Based Algorithm for Detection of Pediatric Intussusception on Abdominal Ultrasound Images

Diagnosing pediatric intussus from ultrasound photographs can be a challenging challenge in many primary care hospitals that lack experienced radiologists. Patients from Children'u2019s Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine from January 2020 to December 2020 were retrospectively collected from Children's Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine. According to the ratio of 8 : 2, the training set and validation set were divided into a curriculum set and validation set. The detection rate, recall, specificity, and F1 score assessed by the validation team were 92. 8%, 95. 0%, 92. 2%, and 86. 4%, respectively, in the u201cconcentric circleu201d detection system. The model that was developed in this paper can help identify u201cconcentric circleu201d signs in ultrasound images of abdominal painsusception in children's ultrasound images; the AI device can also aid in the diagnosis of pediatric intussus development.
