On-Device Learning: A Neural Network Based Field-Trainable Edge AI

This paper introduces a neural network-based on-device learning model to solve this problem without going deep. Experiments using vibration patterns of rotating machines have shown that retraining by the on-device learning process greatly improves an anomaly detection rate in a noisy environment while also saving computation and communication costs for low power.
