Sexuality in Adults With ADHD: Results of an Online Survey.

"Well, the empirical evidence relating to ADHD and sexual functioning is still poor. " We compared various sexual habits, including dangerous sexual habits, hypersexual habits, and sexual dysfunctions between 206 individuals with and without ADHD using an anonymous online poll. Individuals with ADHD had significantly more hypersexual habits than non-ADHD people, although no differences were found among risky sexual habits or sexual dysfunctions. The correlations between ADHD symptomatology and the sexuality-related tests were less apparent in men with ADHD, however, signs of emotional dysregulation remained relevant as well. Since people with ADHD appear to be at a higher risk of certain peculiarities in sexual behavior, sexuality-related disorders should be addressed during clinical consultations to ensure more holistic therapy to improve individual wellbeing and quality of life. The Impact of ADHD on Maternal Quality of Life.

"The aim of the current research was to measure maternal QoL in a sample of children with and without childhood ADHD; and to determine predictors associated with maternal QoL. " Participants included mothers of adolescents with and without ADHD, ranging in age from 13 to 18, ranging in age from 13 to 18. The Quality Adjusted Life-Year survey was used to determine maternal QoL using two health domains that were commonly associated with raising youth with ADHD. In the comparison group, mothers of adolescents with childhood anxiety had a significantly lower QoL ratio to mothers in the comparison group. Maternal depression, along with adolescent age, ADHD prevalence, and discipline issues were all significant predictors of lower maternal QALY health status index results, with ADHD being the leading predictor. The results of the probe have helped to clarify the health risks faced by adolescents with ADHD and have important public health implications. ".

Longitudinal changes of ADHD symptoms in association with white matter microstructure: A tract-specific fixel-based analysis.

"Variation in the longitudinal course of childhood attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder correlates with neurodevelopmental maturation of brain structure and function. " In a longitudinal sample of probands, siblings, and unaffected individuals, we previously found WM alterations were correlated with ADHD symptoms remission over time in a longitudinal sample of probands, siblings, and unaffected individuals.

A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Parental Depression, Antidepressant Usage, Antisocial Personality Disorder, and Stress and Anxiety as Risk Factors for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Children.

"We conducted a series of meta-analyses to determine the correlation of parent mental health status and child ADHD. " Both symptoms and diagnosis were strongly correlated with elevated risk of ADHD overall and both symptoms and diagnosis. Particularly, maternal distress and anxiety, maternal prenatal anxiety, maternal prenatal stress, maternal postpartum depression, maternal post-partum depression, and paternal depression were all positively correlated with ADHD. Both ADHD general and specifically ADHD diagnosis were positively associated with ADHD. Prenatal antidepressant use was attributed to ADHD when it was measured dichotomously only. These findings suggest that prevention strategies promoting parental mental stability and addressing parental anxiety may have long-term effects on child growth, happiness, and behavioral outcomes.

What Has Been Learned from Using EEG Methods in Research of ADHD?

"The new chapter gives an overview of EEG studies evaluating changes in brain function in ADHD, both at rest and in cognitive tasks. " While EEG resting state studies of ADHD indicate that there are no universal changes in the condition, event-related studies show persistent deficits in attentional and inhibitory control that could influence ADHD's suggested cognitive models. EEG findings reveal changes in multiple neural pathways and cognitive functions, similar to other neuroimaging studies.

Paths to postsecondary education enrollment among adolescents with and without childhood attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD): A longitudinal analysis of symptom and academic trajectories.

"We investigated the developmental trajectories of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (SD), standard achievement, and school outcomes for adolescents with and without ADHD who did and did not enroll in postsecondary education. " The average GPA of adolescents with ADHD had been three quarters of a point higher at the end of high school, with those who later enrolled in PSE at a point higher than those that did not. Overall, school results mattered more than academic achievement in predicting the eventual enrollment of adolescents with ADHD. ".

Second Wave of the Study of Taiwanese Caregivers of Children with ADHD in the COVID-19 Pandemic: Intentions to Vaccinate Their Children for COVID-19, and Related Factors.

"The second wave of the Study of Children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in the COVID-19 Pandemic was conducted at the time of a severe COVID-19 outbreak. " Between the first and second waves of study, as well as the investigation of caregivers' motivations, COVID-19 pandemic and non-COVID-19 pandemic factors related to caregivers' beliefs, the aim of this research was to compare the commitments of children with ADHD to vaccinate their children. The COVID-19 vaccines' values, positive results, and freedom to vaccinate their children should be among the goals of raising caregivers' interest in improving caregivers' understanding of the COVID-19 vaccines' benefits, positive effect, and autonomy to vaccinate their children," the CoVID-19 vaccine Uptake should include factors that could be addressed to raise caregivers' motivations, as well as improving caregivers' compliance with the COVID-19 vaccines' values, positive health.

Task-Rate-Related Neural Dynamics Using Wireless EEG to Assist Diagnosis and Intervention Planning for Preschoolers with ADHD Exhibiting Heterogeneous Cognitive Proficiency.

"Preschoolers with ADHD, those with ADHD with low cognitive skills, and preschoolers with normal growth underwent the Conners' Kiddie Continuous Performance Test and wireless EEG recording under various conditions. " The ADHD-H group in the sluggish task environment demonstrated greater delta and lower beta in the central area relative to the TD group, while the ADHD-L group displayed greater parietal delta power. These results reveal that task-rate-related neural pathways contribute to specific neural biomarkers to support clinical planning for ADHD in preschoolers with heterogeneous cognitive skills.

Methylphenidate Use for Emotional Dysregulation in Children and Adolescents with ADHD and ADHD and ASD: A Naturalistic Study.

"Nevertheless, studies on ADHD in children with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD is also ongoing. " Several studies indicate that methylphenidate can be helpful in ADHD EDs, but there aren't enough data to support its use in ASD with comorbid ADHD. MPH is associated with a statistically significant decline in ED in ADHD and ASD, as shown by the results of multiple adverse events, demonstrating the use of psychostimulants for the treatment of ED in these neurodevelopmental disorders. EEG Global Coherence in Scholar ADHD Children during Visual Object Processing.

"The most common reason for school failure in children is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. " Notably, visuospatial dysfunction has also been emphasized as a leading cause of poor cognitive outcomes in children with ADHD. Compared to the control group, children with ADHD displayed significant differences in global weight coherence during the processing of local and global inconsistent visual stimuli and longer reaction times. "We recommend EEG coherence and low-frequency EEG spectral data as potential indicators of sensory processing deficit in ADHD. ".
