Human serum contains small amounts of larger IGF-II, in comparison to the "traditional" 7. 5-kDa insulin-like growth factors I and II. Since the substitution is not made at a known intron/exon hinge region, the finding of this variant IGF-II is the first indication of more than one gene for IGF-II.

This important little-known fact of POMC was found to have an interesting aldosterone-stimulating activity on a human adrenal aldosteronoma. Only one sequence variant of the human genomic DNA was found. In addition, a comparison with other human POMC's most favored cleavage sites Lys-Arg indicates that the pair of basic residues Lys-Arg represents the main sites of enzymatic maturation of this precursor molecule.

Murine C4 alpha, beta-, and gamma-chains all showed sequence similarity with human C4's corresponding subunits; of the ten residues found in murine C4's isolated subunits are similar to those in human C4; of the ten residues, all show sequence similarity with human C4's corresponding subunits; of the ten residues are identical to those in human C4; These results extend to the primary structural level, and human C4 homology can be found within the murine serum substance protein and human C4. Pro-C4 and the C4 beta-chain's amino acid sequences are found to have a similar amino acid sequence, according to comparisons of murine pro-C4 and the discrete polypeptide chains of a semular C4.

paraphrase proteases split within the sequence 1-28, which is thus the sequence of the carboxyl-terminal chain's sequence and includes the unique sequence in which urokinase and other plasminogen-activating serine proteases split.

Ascorbic acid present in pharmacologic solutions may have unanticipated role in cancer therapy. Cell death in ten cancer and four other cell types was determined by using 1-h exposures. Cell death was unrelated of metal chelators and indisputably dependent on H 2 O 2 formation. Cell death from H2 O 2 addition to cells was similar to that found when H2 O 2 was produced by ascorbate therapy. Although ancorbate addition to medium produced H 2 O 2, ascorbate addition to blood did not produce any detectable H 2 O 2 and only traceable ascorbate radicals, ascorbate radicals only has traceable ascorbate radicals. The blood may be a delivery system of the pro-drug to tissues, and it may be a pro-drug for the formation of H 2 O 2. Ascorbic acid is used in cancer therapy, and can have unexpected consequences for treating infections in which H 2 O 2 may be helpful.
