Cellular networks have been growing at a rapid pace lately to keep up with the growing demand for wireless data services. The next wireless communication network can be equipped with high-speed connectivity to please the customer's needs. It is expected to be one of the most reliable and more secure methods for direct communication following the introduction of Device to Device communication from LTE-A. The primary aim of the 5G cellular networks is to maintain the QoS, especially when the devices are in motion. Based on the Reference Point Group Mobility model, this paper proposes a Ping-Pong effect Reduction algorithm to improve the Ping-Pong Reduction algorithm to improve the handover mechanism of the D2D user. In a 5G Cellular network for D2D users, the mode selection algorithm has also been used to select the most suitable mode of transmission. PPR handover algorithm is reduced by up to 80% in unnecessary handover operations with the safe throughput of 12 Mbps, which results in a decrease in power consumption, according to the results report.
