"Shallow 3000 dimension reflection seismic surveys using Su2010waves have seldom been carried out, even though Su2010waves can produce higher resolution subsurface photos than Pu2010waves. In two orientations, we used a small electrodynamic seismic source with a horizontal shaking unit. A four-u2010component rotation of the Cartesian acquisition geometry into the u2018naturalu2019 coordinate frame to orient sources and receivers in radial or transverse orientations to distinguish different Su2010wave polarizations was included in our seismic processing flow. Therefore, we used a common u2010reflection surface processing flow. Images of the Quaternary overdeepened Tannwald Basin found in images from both stacked 3u2010D and Su2010D surveys reveal the Quaternary's vertical and horizontal polarisations, as shown by recent Pu2010D and Su2010D surveys. However, the Su2010wave volumes feature higher resolution photos of the basin base and internal structure in comparison to a Pu2010wave profile next to the volume.
