"Long-term smoking cessation medication treatment programs have demonstrated promise in reducing relapse among people without OUD, but poor adherence to smoking cessation products can limit the effectiveness of extended medication approaches to smokers with OUD. " To determine the effect of theory-guided psychological and socioeconomic variables, as well as other pharmacogenetic causes on cessation milestones, the investigators will recruit 450 smokers with OUD from community-based, outpatient opioid treatment services to determine the safety of long-term vaping trials relative to self-administered vaping testing, the effectiveness of long-term nicotine replacement therapy on smoking cessation milestones, and determine the effect of cessation milestones.
