Effect of Lithium in Patients With Autism Spectrum Disorder and Phelan-McDermid Syndrome (SHANK3 Haploinsufficiency): Pilot Study.

The primary goal of the research is to review the result of Li+ at 12 weeks, contrasted to sugar pill, on the social interaction deficit in patients with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. The treatment of the study is lithium carbonate: Li+ carbonate capsules are prepared from the raw material for pharmaceutical use. Psychological analysis will be carried out by the investigative youngster psychiatry service. Drug preparations will be performed for this pilot research: system blister product packaging of the active ingredient and the sugar pill.
